Boys complain. Men contribute. Week Three Focus was on navigating the different circumstances of life. Men don’t waste time and energy wishing things were different or complaining and pouting. They ask God where He is working, what they can do to make the most of the situation, and get busy with what is in front of them.
We can’t always control our circumstances, but we CAN control how we react to our circumstances. Cale and I talked about the possibilities that lay in front of us, God’s providence and presence in our lives, how we can use difficult circumstances to prepare us for the future, and how God works for the good of those who love Him.
These mornings have been great so far. I don’t expect to have a perfect record, but we are 15/15 so far. We leave for a cruise on Thursday, so it could be a challenge to get up early on Friday and Monday, but we’re determined to continue our streak.
Week Four is about temptation. It should be a good opportunity to have open and honest conversations about potential pitfalls of teens and young men.
