Cale and I really enjoyed the November challenge of starting each morning with a 15-minute yoga session. We had to start our mornings a little bit earlier, but it was something I looked forward to each morning.

Cale’s December challenge is pretty simple. He will be required to spend a minimum of 60 minutes outdoors every day this month. Much of modern life consists of going from one climate-controlled box to another. We go from our home box to the school box, to the gym box, back to the home box. If we aren’t careful, we can go days or even weeks without spending any meaningful time outdoors.

There is something about being outside in the winter that just hits a little bit different: Breathing in the cold air, the stillness of the night, seeing your breath as it escapes your mouth.

If Cale spends an hour outdoors every day, and documents his time outside, he will earn the December badge.
