Boys Bail. Men Remain.
One of my biggest concerns with the longevity of Lovett Legacy was that the boys would grow weary of getting up early, the novelty would wear off, it would become increasingly difficult to keep them motivated, etc.
Before bed last Sunday, Cale asked me if we could get up a little bit EARLIER from now on so that we would have time for a quick workout outside before our bible study. So, we started our day a little before 6am all week.
Monday – Core workout
Tuesday – Plyometric workout
Wednesday – 1-mile run
Thursday – Basketball workout
Friday – Core workout
This was kind of a turning point in Lovett Legacy. Cale is taking some ownership and voluntarily putting in a little bit more than what is being asked of him.
As far as the bible study goes, we had a great week looking at Moses and his loyalty to the Israelites in the midst of their poor decisions. We talked about the importance of loyalty to friends and family, as well as forgiveness. Several times we found ourselves talking about marriage and wedding vows. Loyalty is easy during good times, richer times, healthy times. It is during the hard times, poorer times, sickness times when our loyalty and our wedding vows are put to the test.
One more week of shift #2 !
