Boys are Satisfied. Men want More. God will give you a hunger for more.

Jesus has officially entered the narrative in the John the Baptist story. God shows the importance of 3 things when he speaks to Jesus:

Acceptance: “This is my son.”

Affection: “Whom I love.”

Affirmation: “With him I am well pleased.”

Showing acceptance, affection and affirmation is God’s example to fathers everywhere.

We also spent some time talking about identity. The quote we discussed was, “You get your sense of worth based on the person whose opinion you value the most.”

Trying to fit in, be popular, etc. is a really big struggle for teens. This quote helps to center us and remind us not to change who we are to try and impress people, but to be confident in who we are in Christ.
