Boys want man’s attention. Men want God’s attention. God will see our hearts.
This week, we looked at the story of David being chosen by God from among Jesse’s sons. We drew the same conclusions that have always been drawn from this story for 1,000+ years. Men judge outward appearance. God judges our heart.
In today’s world, men are often admired for their talents, strength, or success, but God looks deeper. He cares about integrity, character, and faith. David wasn’t the most impressive outwardly, but he was faithful and humble, seeking to please God in private before gaining public recognition. Because of this, God could trust David with leadership. Like David, we’re called to focus on who we’re becoming on the inside, not just what we achieve.
This was a good reminder for me and Cale to focus on what matters: Character, Resilience, Integrity, Strength, Purpose, Faith.
