Boys grasp. Men trust. God will work things out.
This week, Cale and I focused on one of the hardest lessons for any young man to learn: surrendering the timing of life to God. Through the story of David, we explored how real manhood is marked not by grasping for control but by trusting that God’s plan will unfold at the right time. David had multiple chances to seize the throne by force, yet he chose patience, discernment, and faith, refusing to take matters into his own hands. He trusted God not just with the promise but with the process.. from waiting over a decade to become king to even surrendering his reputation amid insults and betrayal.
We talked about how this applies to Cale’s life now: Trusting God’s timing with school, friendships, relationships, money, and future plans rather than chasing instant gratification. It’s in that patient surrender that strength and wisdom grow.
