Boys worry. Men worship. God will reward our devotion.

This week, Cale and I explored what it means for a man to surrender his reputation and live for an audience of One. Through the story of David bringing the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, we learned that worship isn’t just singing, it’s declaring God’s worth with our whole lives, regardless of what others think. David learned reverence after Uzzah’s death reminded him of God’s holiness, then approached God with obedience, offering thousands of sacrifices and dancing before the Lord with all his might (pretty weird mental image).

Even when his wife mocked him, David refused to let criticism silence his joy or devotion, showing us that real men value God’s opinion far above people’s. We talked about how living this way frees us from fear of judgment and allows us to experience the deep joy that comes from wholehearted worship and obedience. Boys worry about what others think; men worship boldly and trust God to handle their reputation.
