Boys squander. Men redeem. God will give us opportunities.
This week, Cale and I focused on one of the most valuable things a man has: time. Boys waste it, but men learn to redeem it. We talked about how our time isn’t random: it’s in God’s hands, and He placed us in this exact moment in history for a reason. Our lives are short and precious, and how we use our limited time has eternal consequences.
We also looked at how time is a gift, not a right, and how real maturity means seeking what God wants us to do with that gift. We discussed the importance of staying focused instead of getting distracted by trivial things, learning from regret and making better choices, and seizing the moments God gives us instead of letting them pass by. Boys think they have all the time in the world, but men live with urgency and purpose, using every moment to prepare for eternity.
We had good discussions on cellphone “ITS” (Infinite Time Sucks). We talked about “the impartial spectator”: Imagine a 60-year-old you is watching you in this moment. Would he be happy with how you are spending your time?
