Year two looks a little bit different that year one. With a different format, it allows a little more flexibility in how Cale and I tackle the content. Year two will cover three different archetypes that a godly man should encompass: Disciple, Lover, Leader.

As a supplement to the Disciple curriculum, Cale and I are focusing on a few different areas of spiritual discipline. We had a stretch where our focus was prayer, and are undertaking a daily bible reading scheduled that will take us all the way through 2026.

To conclude our study on the Disciple Archetype, Cale and I took a weekend trip to Dallas. Saturday was full of a lot of good food, good sweet tea, and some intellectually and physically challenging activities (Activate Games, Quest Escape Room, Sandbox VR). We also had four different 1-hour sessions throughout the day where we worked our way through C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters.

On Sunday, we drove to Camp Pettijohn, where we spent a couple of hours hiking Pettijohn Pete Trail, finishing Screwtape Letters, and taking communion. I also gave Cale a bible to commemorate his finishing the Disciple Archetype.

It was a great weekend! Next up: The Lover Archetype.
